Inaugural Rado Star Prize UK winners announced
Rado is pleased to announce the winners of the inaugural UK edition of the Rado Star Prize. The Judges’ Winner was awarded to Joachim Froment, who impressed the judges with the clever design concept of his ‘0.6 Chair’.
The 0.6 Chair is a robust, long-lasting dining and café chair made with an efficient yet simple production process. By using a mould in two parts, the manufacturing time and the amount of material required are reduced, minimising consumption.
“If you design for people, you have to design from the heart. I’d like to thank Rado for all their support and this amazing experience,” comments Joachim Froment.
The winner of the public vote was awarded to Jasmine Craven-Huffer for her project, The Moravian Collection. Selected by visitors to the Rado exhibition at designjunction, The Moravian Collection takes direct inspiration from a stool designed in the 15th century. The collection includes the original Moravian feature of sliding dovetail rails which, utilising the natural movement of wood, creates a strong joint that will tighten over time, extending functional life.
Both Joachim and Jasmine will receive a Rado Ceramica for their achievements. Discover the collection here.
