Celebrate the Year of the Dog with Rado

19 January 2018

Rado is presenting a beautiful duo of timepieces just in time for Chinese New Year. Two exclusive watches from the Rado DiaMaster collection are ideal for ringing in an auspicious year of the dog.

Crafted from polished, brilliant plasma high-tech ceramic, these two timekeepers are each limited to 1314 pieces and make stylish companions during this happy season of travel and reunions. In Chinese culture, the number 1314 holds great significance. Similar to the word “forever”, 1314 is often used in relation to love, and now adorns the case back of each of these new DiaMaster models.

A watch for a year of good fortune – and beyond

With an unusual yet feminine design, the ladies’ DiaMaster features 49 shimmering diamonds that form a gleaming off-centre ring on the mother-of-pearl dial. An embossed beige calf leather strap fastens the petite 33 mm case to the wrist. For him, the masculine and eyecatching DiaMaster Power Reserve is on offer. A classic gentleman’s watch with a sparkling twist, the dial shines with its 12 diamond indexes, white sunray detailing, and power reserve indicator situated at 9 o' clock.

The cases of this DiaMaster duo put one of Rado’s signature materials – plasma high-tech ceramic – in the spotlight once again. Finished white ceramic is placed in a plasma furnace, where gases activated at 20,000°C trigger a reaction at the molecular level: The pieces emerge anew, revealing a metallic shine and gleaming with vitality. The result is a beautiful material of astonishing longevity – a fitting way to honour relationships that will last a lifetime.

The Rado DiaMaster – the ideal timekeeper for ushering in a year of good fortune.
